Photoshop Class - Lesson 5

I'm absolutely loving my Photoshop Elements class that I'm taking through www.jessicasprague.com.  Jessica was sick a week ago, so class just started back up again on Monday.  In Lesson 5, we learned about clipping masks, which are "things" you can put behind a photo layer to give it an interesting shape when tied into that photo.

I can't really explain it as well as she can, but here are my most recently Before & After examples to explain.

This is probably my favorite from the photos I edited.  Notice how the After photo on the right has a rough edge to it.  That's compliments of the clipping mask.

This is a friend's Welsh Corgie... I believe his name is Dexter (I can't remember exactly).  I LOVE Welsh Corgies.  I've always said I wanted a chihuahua, but the more I look at this cute little face, the more I wonder if a Corgie might be the way to go... I will have to think about that.

Since I haven't been participating in Scavenger Hunt Sunday these past few weeks, I figure I'd at least show you what I'm learning.  What do you think?

  1. Clipping masks are so cool! I use them all the time. I don't remember learning about them in her class though. Perhaps she switched things up a bit in her new revamped class. Anyway, glad you are enjoying the class!
