Keyboard!

First of all, I want to apologize for going all over-dramatic on you in my last post.  Secondly, God definitely answers prayers.  I prayed that I would feel better about my ability to memorize the harmony in "By My Side" for the show I'm in, and I got my wish in two ways.

1. I looked at the song and realized that the harmony is really not crazy.  I sing pretty close to the same thing as the other girl in the song, except in a couple of areas.  I felt way better about it after that.

2.  I got an unexpected surprise yesterday when I got home from work.  I recently made the decision to invest in an electric keyboard.  I'm in choir all year long and now, getting back into musical theater, I decided now would be a good time to bite the bullet and buy one.  I found a good price on one and my mom let me use a discount she had to knock the price down significantly lower, so it ended up being a great deal.  It wasn't supposed to be delivered for another week, but the UPS man rang the doorbell yesterday!

Of course, being an electric keyboard, the sound is a little different from a regular piano, but it will do just fine for learning the rhythms.  It's even helped me to remember a bit from my piano playing days in high school.  I may even pull out some of my sheet music and try to teach myself to play again.  Maybe...

I've just had an overall peace about the whole thing the last few days.  I used to be a major worry-wort through college, but since then, I've really mellowed out and tend not to freak out about stuff... so this worry about failure was not a good setback at all.  I'm better now and am excited to show the audience what I can do.

I still would appreciate some prayers, though, for my voice, my powers of memorization, and for my ability to pick up the harmony that I am trying to teach myself on the keyboard.  Thanks!
